Dark & white...

Allegedly, back in the days of The PEPSI Challenge, PEPSI's competitor
jumped into the test. It was a chance for market research and to prove that
everybody loves the competing product.
Much to everybodies disbelief, the challege repeatedly showed PEPSI to be the
real winner. Yes, this was even to PEPSI's disbelief apparently as it scored
a 80% to 90% preference!
The competitor launched into a 'new' version of their product and eased up on
the manufacture of their existing brand. Maybe they were trying for a more
PEPSI-like taste?
But people didn't want that. So hastily they brought back the old formulation
and named it 'classic'. Today, you don't hear about the 'new' one...
So when MARS first brought out this dark & white Mars bar (the chewy stuff
is white, with dark chocolate around it) the packs said stuff like it is only
available for a limited time.
This makes sense. If it takes off, they can introduce it. If none of them
shift then they can stop making them and wait for the old ones to sell out.
Either way, it doesn't look too bad on them.
So why do the new packets say "IT'S BACK....but
for how long?"?
Are they unsure of whether or not the idea caught on? Maybe they are running
a certain operating system and it trashed their results?
I quite like the Dark & white MARS. It makes a difference to the basic concept of "the Mars bar" whilst being basically the same thing.
